Apple Teams Up With Airlines
Apple has teamed up with several airlines to provide iPod integration on flights. The airlines working with Apple are Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United. The six airlines will start to accommodate their passengers with seats that provide a charging port for iPods and the option to watch iPod movies during flight from their seat back displays rather then from the iPod. Apple is also working with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to bring more to the table, but you can expect to start experiencing the initial changes in mid 2007.
Here’s a snip-it from the Apple’s Press Release: “There is no better traveling companion than an iPod, and now travelers can power their iPods during flight and even watch their iPod movies and TV shows on their seat back displays,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. “We’re excited to work with Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United to offer iPod users an even better in-flight experience.”
