If there would be only one tip I could give to anyone on how to make money with Google Adsense, then it would have to be – the positioning of your Google Adsense. You have to place your Google Adsense in a spot where you know people are clicking. Under the menu or above the menu works great, also along the top or bottom of a website is good too. The reason those spots generate clicks is because they seem to extend your menu and provide more choices for your users. Menus are usually found on the left, top, and right side of a website, and also within the footer (which explains why I said to also place them at the bottom). You have to “funnel” your users into clicking on the Google Adsense by placing them in a strategic and logical place where your users would usually find a menu. Another great spot to place your Google Adsense is within your post or content, by doing so your Google Adsense will again appear to be part of the content or an extension of it.

The chart to the right represents the general primary hot zones for click-throughs. This will assist you in understanding where are the best spots for placing your Google Adsense (Red being a higher click-through count and white being the lowest). Keep in mind that this chart is for general use only, each website is different and results may vary.

Always keep in mind never to trick your users into clicking on Google Adsense, since this is frowned upon and Google may terminate your account. Instead provide your users with an extension or options to visit other sites through your Adsense Ads. Also make sure to always refer to the Google Adsense Terms of Use for correct use of Google Adsense on your site at all times. Periodically visiting their Terms of Use page will help you keep up to dated on any new changes or rules and regulations.
