Welcome to Round 2 of WEB 2.0 marketing, “THE BIG SQUEEZE” of a frozen market.

Yahoo! Search Engine MarketingThe little guy is now assed out of the bidding competition market based on the amount of money and time which is required to keep “guess-work” bids going. The source of all this is due to the fact that Overture’s View Bid app. (an essential tool which used to be located at this URL) was recently taken off line, throwing any search engine marketer into the dark. This is a crucial and fundamental tool providing marketers the ability to view keyword rates which in turn gives them an insight understanding of when to increase and/or decrease bids to stabilize their campaigns.

Google’s Adwords Search Engine MarketingNow why would Yahoo do such a thing as to take this useful tool away? Well like always, it’s about pleasing the share holders by pinching down on their customers for every last little nickel they can get (corporate penny pinching), and in this case nothing much has changed. You might think it’s just one small tool but in actuality it’s bigger than that, like the increasing of their bids to a standard $.10 starting bid while the majority of bids are already inflated over the top on both Yahoo and Google with click fraud being rampant everywhere, or the never-ending pour of regulations which only tends to further restrict customers - it’s just one thing after another. They now have created a closed market condition which benefits ONLY BIG BUSINESS and BIG SPENDING. The sad thing here is that the little guys make most of their percentage, in turn leading the market to freeze due to most marketers jumping ship to look elsewhere for their marketing needs.

So what’s going to happen? Well all I can say right now is that organic search engine listings may become much more valuable or we may see new growth sprouts in third-party and upcoming search engine websites. There is no guarantee that these new search engines won’t follow the same route so more than likely most marketers will have to bite the bullet and continue with what they have, but maybe others may go for a completely alternative means to market their sites - we’ll see soon enough.
