Introducing Pownce, Made for Sending Stuff to your Friends

PowncePownce is a new startup by Kevin Rose, founder of Digg. It allows you to send messages, files, links, and events to your friends, family members, clients, and/or business partners. With Pownce you’re free to choose who you want to share stuff with, whether it’s a bunch of people or just one in specific. The app is compatible with Mac and PCs, but, of course, just like every other new application that’s coming out, it’s only by invitation. This really sucks for a lot of people but it works wonders for thier marketing and creating lots of hype.

Pownce LogoWhen you open up a basic Pownce account you practically get all the nice out-of-the-box features you expect with the ability to send pretty much about anything you want, so there isn’t that much restricted. However, there is a Pro Account upgrade which essentially takes off the ads they display, the ability to send much bigger files, and a wider variety of themes. It all depends on your needs from an app like this one, if you’re just sending a couple of photos to your friends or family members, then I would say go with the basic, but if you need to send larger files to clients or business partners, then I would go with the Pro account. Overall it’s a pretty nice app, but I’ll make sure to provide a better review shortly. In the meantime, get out there and try to find yourself some invites to check this app out.
