If you haven’t checked it out yet, the CSS Remix site was just hacked. More and more reputable websites are being hacked and defaced everyday, it’s becoming very common so watch out, your site might be next. Always keep yourself up-to-date on the latest security releases and if possible hire a hacker to be on staff (if the situation calls for it). CSS Remix is among one of the top sites that showcases a great listing of website designs, and sadly it’s has been completely defaced.

As you can tell from the image above, the site was hacked by a Turkish hacker named Beyrut. Here’s a snapshot of the original CSS Remix site which is how it used to look like right before the hacker defaced it.

Looks to me like it was a simple HTML injection, a script which overlays the site, so most of the site should still be intact and everything should be back to normal, but we’ll see. Hopefully it’s as simple as removing a bit of coding and the site is back online, although they’ll probably want to go through everything to make sure it’s clean.
