ProfileBuilder, The Online Identity Platform

Profile BuilderWith all of these social networks and online communities popping up all over the place we can’t help it but feel overwhelmed by the fact of how time consuming it is to even keep up with all of it. Basically the time we can dedicate towards updating the profiles we have scattered throughout the web is decreasing due to various reasons, either we’re consumed by too many responsibilities or we just plan out don’t want to deal with it. Therefore ProfileBuilder was developed, which is aimed at trying to solve this issue by providing a centralized platform that is oriented towards allowing users to control their profiles in a more manageable way, and essentially making our lives a bit easier when dealing with our profiles online.

Here’s a product description from ProfileBuilder themselves.

“Online identities can be created, managed and consolidated with Profil.es, a breakthrough Web product that gives individuals a centralized platform to manage and enhance their online presence. Users can customize their Profil.es and control visibility and access, while tracking in-depth stats on performance and activity. A unique Profil.es icon can easily be added to e-mails, blogs, Web sites and anywhere HTML code can be placed - including sites such as eBay, MySpace, Facebook and Match.com. Currently in beta, Profil.es was created by Profile Builder, a company that develops products to enhance your online identity.”

ProfileBuilder helps you establish a consistent profile across the web, manage your friends, provide content filters to allow you to display certain information depending on the site, easily establish connections with people, and track your profile activity. So far the application looks quite promising, but like all new startups that are trying to solve everyday problems on the web, only time will tell if they are dedicated enough to keep up with us. I certainly like the idea of having to only check up on one account which would access all my online profiles, but more so the idea of letting me filter only the information I want to show on each site, overall saving me time to do other things.

There has been many companies built around the same goal of maintaining our online profiles like Profilactic, ProfileLinker, and other companies which have gained lots of traction thus far. In a sense, ProfileBuilder is another startup willing to help solve the profile issue, but hopefully with a better grip on things and a fuller arsenal of features to come. Already they have approximately signed-up 5,000+ users which have created profiles with the application, and have received more than 450,000+ page views since their launch.
